How can I or a loved one receive meals?
Homebound seniors aged 60 and over in Delaware should contact the agency closest to them or call 302-656-3257 for more information.
Disabled homebound adults under the age of 60 should contact the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) for approval to receive meals.
Individuals outside of the state of Delaware should go to www.mowaa.org and use the ‘Find A Meal’ function to find the agency closest to them.
Can I get deliveries even if my need is temporary?
Yes. Some people may only need meals for a short period of time while recovering from surgery or an ailment. Clients for Meals On Wheels for short periods of time will still need to be assessed by a social worker.
What are the costs?
The donation range for seniors is $1.50 to full price per day. Donations from family members or other concerned people are welcomed to help pay for these vital meals. No one is refused a meal based on their income level or ability to support this program.
When are the meals delivered?
One hot ready-to-eat meal is delivered during lunch time Monday through Friday. Meals may also be delivered on weekday holidays.
